Connecting Resources and Students

My Connect4U Story

Every groundbreaking App begins with a series of small ideas that are combined into an all inclusive one.

Connect4U will soon be an app that connects students and schools that have a surplus of books and supplies with students and schools in need. This idea creates a direct pipeline to students, especially in high school, who cannot otherwise afford materials and at the same time keeps the supplies out of the waste stream.

Every year, many high school books, standardized test prep materials, calculators, AP books and coursework books lie in students' shelves unused as most of these have a very important purpose, yet serve a one time purpose.

This is where the app Connect4U comes in. If supplies could flow from areas of excess to areas of need, this problem could be easily rectified. And that is exactly what Connect4U aims to do. Connect4U will act as the middle man which connects students who have unused supplies to students who need those supplies.

This idea emerged as a winning pitch in the Educating for Tomorrow category of the Cleveland Leadership Center’s Accelerate: Citizens Make Change competition in partnership with Citizens Bank. With seed funding provided by Nordson,

this idea will soon be piloted.

This initiative will help bridge the opportunity gap, improve equity in education, and redistribute resources to where they're needed.
